The title of this piece is not the English alphabet character 'Z' but the Greek one, although they look the same, and the one obviously derives from the other.
The reason for using this title comes from a piece posted at RT the other day. Here it is.
https://www.rt.com/russia/552908-kiev-call-world-ban-letter/
(Ukraine calls on world to ban 'Z'.)
What's curious is that no one picked up on the poetic irony.
Have a look.
https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/z
'Z' was Costa-Gavras' first major success (reportedly his third movie). It tells the true story of a victim of the US-backed fascist coup in Greece, where yes, the Greek fascists tried to outlaw the letter 'Ζ'.
Back then it was only for a single country (Greece). "Ze" and his friends in Ukraine, who seem to be afflicted with Acute Hyperbolic Vision Of Grandeur Syndrome®, want it applied to the entire solar system (for now).
Delving deeper into the above RT piece yields further gems.
"I call on all states to criminalize the use of the 'Z' symbol as a way to publicly support Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine."
That's Ukraine MFA Dmitry Kuleba. That's quite a mouthful. Given Ze's success with that tactic, of course he'll try.
"Lithuanian deputies have also proposed criminalizing the letter 'Z' along with the St George ribbon, which is a Russian symbol to commemorate the victory in World War Two. The legislators proposed equating both with the Nazi swastika and to punish the display of Russian symbols with a €500 fine."
Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania are big supporters of Adolf to this day. Of course they don’t want to celebrate the allied victory in WWII. At least one of those countries has annual Nazi marches just like Kiev. Denazification would be nice there too.
"Meanwhile, according to the German newspaper Bild, the letter 'Z' as a symbol of Russia's military operation has already been banned in some regions of Germany, including Berlin, Bavaria, Lower Saxony, and North Rhine-Westphalia."
Still waters run deep. After all, they were only defending their Vaterland, nicht wahr?
"Kiev says the Russian offensive was completely unprovoked and has denied claims it was planning to retake the Donbass by force."
That's a lie, and we know it now, as Russian forces came upon the documents, signed by the Ukrainian military chiefs, that outlined the secret operation coordinated with NATO and the US, for an offensive operation in March.

And how about those Biden gaffes? For they were gaffes, right? Fox & Friends sort of laugh it off.
There's no regime change agenda in DC. Of course not. Perish the thought. Nothing to see here. Go home now, folks, to your families and loved ones. The Empire of Lies is not threatened. Enjoy your evening - tomorrow's gonna be another day.

Λαμπράκης
Γρηγόρης Λαμπράκης was a Greek politician, physician, track and field athlete, and member of the faculty of the School of Medicine at the University of Athens. He was a champion athlete throughout his life, and held the Greek record for long jump for twenty-three years (1936–1959). His politics leaned towards the left and he was actively involved in the pacifist movement of his time.
On 22 May 1963, shortly after he delivered the keynote speech at an anti-war rally in Thessaloniki, two far-right extremists, driving a three-wheeled vehicle known colloquially as a “kamikaze” as they’re from Japan, struck Lambrakis with a club over the head in plain view of a large number of people and (allegedly) some police officers. He suffered brain injuries and died in hospital five days later. The following day, in Athens, his funeral became a massive demonstration. More than 500,000 people rallied to protest against the right-wing government.
The events that followed the assassination of Lambrakis led to rapid political developments. Thousands of Greek youth founded a new political organisation called Δημοκρατική Νεολαία Λαμπράκη and famed Zorba composer Mikis Theodorakis was elected first president.
The life and death of Lambrakis inspired Vassilis Vassilikos to write the political novel 'Z'. The title stands for the first letter of the Greek word 'Zi' ('He lives'), a popular graffito which began to appear on the walls of the buildings of the Greek cities in the 1960s, illustrating the growing protest against the conditions that led to the assassination of Lambrakis. This was initially spelled out but later shortened to the single letter.
In 1969, Costa-Gavras (Κώστας Γαβράς) made the film Z, a box office success. Yves Montand starred as Lambrakis, Jean-Louis Trintignant appeared as investigator Sartzetakis, and Irene Papas played Lambrakis' widow. The film exposed the extent of the corruption in the US-backed fascist junta where, yes, they'd made a futile attempt to outlaw the letter 'Z'.
Showtime!
Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, you can see the entire movie right on your Internet device right now.
(Strange, isn't it, that the protest movement back then, sixty years ago, was against NATO? And they spoke, already then, in derisive tones, about the CIA?)
(And Lambrakis was a national hero. So how create animosity towards him? Ask around in the Truman Building. Someone's sure to help out with that.)
And please don't miss the random connection to the Ukraine.
“The film had a total of 3,952,913 admissions in France and was the 4th highest grossing film of the year. It was also the 12th highest grossing film of 1969 in the US. Z is also the first film - and one of only a handful - to be nominated for both the Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Foreign Language Film. It won the latter, as well as the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, the BAFTA Award for Best Film Music, and the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Foreign Film. At the 27th Golden Globe Awards, the producers of Z refused the award to protest against the film's exclusion from the Best Motion Picture - Drama category.”
(And it was also banned in several countries. Of course it was.)
"It's hard to overstate the impact that this Oscar-winning procedural thriller had in 1969, on a world roiling in political activism, repression, and discord."
"The film's anti-fascism always reads as raw and angry but never unfocused. A remarkable thriller."
YES, Churchill got first pick at Yalta, and picked Greece, but, by 1947, the US was in for both a drachma and a pound (actually in a $400 million package). Truman's “doctrine” led in turn to the formation of NATO, which only a few years later met with considerable resistance in countries such as Greece.

Here's Claudia and Clint passing out one of two Z-statues. You might recognise the second gent who comes on stage: he's the guy in Cinema Paradiso.
Here's Claudia with a very svelte Darth Vader presenting the second award.
It should be also noted that Yves Montand, during a promotional tour in the US, was issued only a provisional visa, and was accompanied and chaperoned by US security agents 24/7, even on his visits to talk shows, standing offstage as he spoke, ready to jump in and remove him if he "misspoke".
The music of Theodorakis, including his famous Zorba score, was considered "treacherous" by the US and banned in several places.
Smell the coffee, folks. We're back there again. It's the same play, with the same dramatis personae, sixty years later. Not much has changed. Today we have a repressive dictatorship in Kiev trying to ban the same letter again - yes really - only this time not for a single country but on a worldwide scale (and perhaps beyond into our solar system).
The situation in the Ukraine is the doing of the US. It's been a long-term plan since the 1940s. It was put on the back burner for a while, but the Nuland-Kagans, who've been in charge, were welcomed in by Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden. The ultimate goal of that bloodbath is regime change in Russia.
They were happy with the Russia of the 1990s, but then Russia started getting back on her feet again, and they didn't like that. They want a return to the 1990s when people used tulip bulbs to make bread.
The people in the West are being fed the biggest information operation ever, over ten years in the making, and encompassing all levels of society, from the media to government offices. They want victory.

Z Phase II
The material demilitarisation of the Ukraine is mostly done. During the next few weeks the Russian air and long range artillery forces will finish that task.
The denazification of the Ukraine has proven to be more difficult. The main units of Azov were caught up in Mariupol where several thousand of them have been or will be eliminated. More units at the Donetsk front will also soon be taken out. But, during the eight years since the coup in Kiev, the fascist ideology has deeply infiltrated all Ukrainian government structures. It will be hard for the Ukrainians to remove it even as its failures become obvious.
The future depends on the willingness of Kiev to submit to Russia's demands. Russia can leave it at that or it can continue to mow the grass until none is left.

Re-Visiting Russiagate In Light Of The Ukraine War
Stone-cold sober look at two presidents.
It's hard to believe that the last president spent his term pouring weapons into Ukraine, shredding treaties with Russia and ramping up cold war escalations against Moscow which helped lead us directly to the extraordinarily dangerous situation we now find ourselves in, and yet mainstream liberals spent his entire administration screaming that he was a Kremlin puppet.
A lot of anti-empire commentary is rightly going into criticizing how the Obama administration paved the way to this conflict in Ukraine with its role in the 2014 coup and support for Kiev's war against Donbass separatists. But what's getting lost in all this, largely because Trumpites have been using their mainstream numbers to loudly amplify criticisms of the role of the Obama and Biden administrations in this mess, is what happened between those two presidencies which was just as crucial in getting us here.
Though it's been scrubbed from mainstream liberal history, it was actually the Trump administration that began the US policy of arming Ukraine in the first place. Obama had refused forceful demands from neocons and liberal hawks to do so because he feared it would provoke an attack by Russia.
This change occurred either because Trump was a fully willing participant in the agenda to ramp up aggressions against Moscow, or because he was politically pressured into playing along with that agenda by the collusion narrative which had its origins at every step in the US intelligence cartel, or because of some combination of the two.
Day after day some new 'BOMBSHELL' media report would surface tying some obscure Trump underling so some Russian oligarch in some way, the outlet which published it would be rewarded with millions of clicks, only to have it fizzle into a flat nothing pizza within a few days.
Day after day mainstream liberals were promised major revelations which would lead to the entire Trump family being dragged from the White House in chains, and day after day those promises failed to deliver. But what did happen during that time was a mountain of US cold war escalations against Moscow, a very good illustration of the immense difference between narrative and fact.
Trump supporters like to believe that the Deep State tried to remove their president because he was such a brave populist warrior leading a people's revolution against their Satanic globalist agendas, and surely there were some individual goons within their ranks who would have loved to see him gone. But in reality the major decision makers in the US intelligence cartel never intended to remove Trump from office. They'd have known from their own intel that the Mueller investigation wouldn't turn up any evidence of a conspiracy with the Russian government, and they'd have known impeachment wouldn't remove him because they know how to count Senate seats. Russiagate was never about removing Trump, it was about making sure Trump played along with their regime change plans for Moscow and manufacturing mainstream consent for the escalations we're seeing today.

Biden Confirms Why the US Needed This War
https://consortiumnews.com/2022/03/27/can-russia-escape-the-us-trap/
The US got its war in Ukraine. Without it, Washington could not attempt to destroy Russia's economy, orchestrate worldwide condemnation, and lead an insurgency to bleed Russia, all part of an attempt to bring down its government. Joe Biden has now left no doubt that it's true.
It is all about the Russian people turning on Putin to overthrow him, which would explain Russia's crackdown on anti-war protestors and the media.
It was no slip of the tongue.
"The United States could have easily prevented Russia's military action. It could have stopped Russia's intervention in Ukraine's civil war from happening by doing three things: forcing implementation of the 8-year old Minsk peace accords, dissolving extreme right Ukrainian militias and engaging Russia in serious negotiations about a new security architecture in Europe. But it didn't."
"The US can still end this war through serious diplomacy with Russia. But it won't. Blinken has refused to speak with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Instead, Biden announced on March 16 another $800 million in military aid for Ukraine on the same day it was revealed Russia and Ukraine have been working on a 15-point peace plan. It has never been clearer that the US wanted this war and wants it to continue."

"As a result, the US now finds itself more deeply enmeshed than ever in the most dangerous war it has fought in years if not decades. It may be too late for those questions to be meaningfully examined. But, given the stakes, this is as clear a case of better late than never as one will ever encounter." - Glenn Greenwald
